At our meetings and events, we explore the wealth of rhododendron species and hybrids, rarely if ever seen in retail garden outlets, that grow so very well in our area. Some of those plants are shown on our Chapter photo gallery, which we encourage you to explore.
In October, we join other District 8 Chapters in hosting the biennial ARS Eastern Regional Conference, which will be held in nearby Lionville, PA. The Conference will focus on the hybrids and hybridizers of Pennsylvania, and there will be a plant sale featuring these local rhodies as well as companion plants. We encourage area gardeners to join our chapter this year and attend this valuable conference. Check our Events page for details. Here are easy ways to find those hard to get rhododendrons, azaleas and companion plants for your garden: attend our annual sale the first weekend each May and our annual Flower Show each Mothers' Day (both events are open to the public); and, join us and attend our annual cuttings exchange, plant auction and Plants for Members distribution later in the year. The plants you are looking for, and many you have not seen before, are probably there, and the price cannot be beat!
